Sedgefield is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and an extensive coastal lake system, bordered by a series of parallel fossil sand dunes that run between Kaaimans River in the west and Brenton on Sea in the east.



Sedgefield boasts five stunning beaches, with lots of shallow water for the kids to paddle in and rock pools inviting hours of exploration. Sedgefield’s surrounding environment makes for excellent angling, as well as an ideal venue for a variety of water sports.

 
           Swartvlei Beach

            Swartvlei (or Black Lake) on western side of Sedgefield,
            forms a safe estuary for bathing and provides easy access to   
            Gericke’s Point – one of Sedgefield’s most popular   
            beach walks.
